Day 1 - 158lbs




Day 1
158lbs.
I've not been very well since the start of the year, I was over worked and stressed when I finished for Christmas and instead of getting plenty of rest over the break, I worked my butt off at the yard. As a result, I got absolutely no work done, do I've gone back to University still stressed. My first week back hasn't exactly been easy either, with an assessed presentation, two assignments in next Monday and trying to move both myself and Murphy back! Its all just got on top of me and now I'm a poorly girl. So I've come home for some well deserved rest and relaxation!

Just because I'm home though doesn't mean I haven't got stuff to do, so the plan is to get on top of my assignments ready for Monday, get my PTT folder done and organised, and get back into my beauty regime! So I thought I'd start with some motivational pictures of myself so I can measure my progress!

I'm aiming for 136lbs (62kgs) although my main goals are to lose fat from my stomach, back, arms and thighs and to tone up.

I'm also aiming to grow my nails out, I love being able to paint them and have them looking all glamorous but at the moment there's nothing left, so here's what they look like now.



Lots of goals for the new year, so let's get going!!

10 days of absolute chaos!

Well, so much for that!

So this last 10 days, a lot of exciting things have been happening. The biggest and most significant one was perhaps the arrival of this gorgeous boy on Wednesday...


Everybody say hello to Murphy! He's come to live with me as his Mum is struggling to find the time to look after him, so I'm borrowing him and he's come to teach me all about being a strong, brave and determined rider. We're working on it!

So this week has basically been a blur of preparing for his arrival, and then trying to settle into a routine. He's on DIY livery, so I go up every morning before lectures and turn him out in the field and then muck him out and sort him out for bedtime, then I have to schedule in a return to the yard each day to bring him in, put his jammies on and give him his dinner. I'm exhausted but I'm loving the challenge!

Another exciting thing that's happened this week is that I have applied for a student internship helping to organise the 2015 European Championships in September next year. If I get the job, this will involve me moving to Scotland for the 1st May and staying there for 5 months being incredibly busy and chaotic. Clearly Murphy will either have to come with me or go back to his Mum. I'm quite hopeful that he'll be able to come with me on an adventure :) I find out if I have an interview by the 12th so I'm keeping my fingers well crossed!

In other news my weight has finally started dropping off, and my skin is looking pretty darn good too so I'm fairly pleased with how that's all going. Hopefully I can keep it up!

In the beginning.

Welcome to my world!


So at 3:11pm yesterday I had an epiphany. I'd been up since 7am in a desperate bid to write my assignment, all 2000 words of it, in one day. As a second year degree student with normally very good study habits, I found myself asking "what went wrong?"

The answer I believe, is that this year, I might have bitten off more than I can chew. This year my many projects include:
  • Finishing my second year with at least 70% in all my modules.
  • Taking a horse on loan.
  • Working towards and taking my Intermediate Tap exam.
  • Working towards and taking my Intermediate Modern exam.
  • Working towards and taking my Grade 6 Ballet exam.
  • Mentoring a student at College.
  • Mentoring students whilst on the yard at College.
  • Fundraising for the British Horse Society.
  • Working towards and taking my BHS Preliminary Teaching Test.
  • Earning my Silver Young Equestrian Leaders Award.
  • Contributing as a caller and section leader to the general progress of the band.
  • Assisting with the Media and Publicity team, and producing the welcome packs for the band's Encontro meet in July.
The challenge? I only have 168 hours a week in which to work with.

This clearly calls for some major organisation skills!

The thing is, I have all the systems in place, and it'll work for so long, then it all falls to pieces and I get cross with myself. So this blog will be a chronicle of my journey to better organisation and a healthier and happy lifestyle. Highs and lows, the works.
